Books have been central to my practice since 1985. They represent containers for memory, vehicles for narrative, and sculptures that invite intimate engagement. Unlike paintings that command wall space, artist books require the viewer to slow down, to unfold, to discover.
My work explores themes of memory, architecture, color relationships, and the intersection of text and image. The artist books employ diverse techniques including hand printing and monotypes as well as watercolour, gouache, printmaking, and innovative paper-folding structures. My approach to book arts is informed by my background in abstract painting, bringing a painter’s sensibility to color relationships and composition within the book format.
